I've been buying and selling Michael Jordan cards since I was about 8 or 9 years old. Now in my 40s, I'm still at it, but I see millions of dollars' worth of MJ cards being bought on various marketplaces, and MJ gets NOTHING out of it (yes, I realize he doesn't need anything from these sales, but that's not the point). Hundreds of sellers, including myself, make money off his name, image, and his worldwide status as one of the greatest athletes ever (different conversation).
Since MJ doesn't need the thousands of dollars profited from his trading cards, what about donating to one of his favorite charities? I went to his family's website, www.jump.management, and I saw that he's always been a big donor to @makeawishamerica.
What I propose is something different. Chester's Finds Cards will now donate 10% of our net profits from all MJ trading cards to @MakeaWishMN
We will start today, October 1st, 2026, and donate each quarter, reporting our amounts here. I'm not sure how much impact this will have for Make-A-Wish, but I figure every dollar helps a child.
Maybe we will start a trend and more sellers will follow suit. Then, we might have a REAL impact. I gotta believe this would be in line with what MJ would do himself.
